The 2025 version of the Stampede Scout 15u begins not only with a new name but with some new faces joining some established players to form the most talented roster to date.  Coach Knight’s team finished the fall with a stellar 12-5 record, brought home a championship banner and established themselves as a team to watch going into the summer season. 

 

          The returning crew from the fall brings a wealth of experience from a great season.

On the bump, Connor Landers (Northwest Cabarrus), Cooper Morris (Bandys) and Stone Johnson (Charlotte Catholic) led the pitching staff.  Landers led the team with 22 1/3 IP, while striking out 17 with a 3.45 ERA.  Johnson was 2nd in IP with 18 2/3 and struck out 23 while sporting an ERA of 2.63.   In 18 1/3 IP, Morris struck out a whopping 29 hitters and posted a miniscule 1.15 ERA to lead the rotation.
           Offensively, Noah Shorts (Bradford Prep) led the team with a .514 avg and an OPS of 1.124 while leading the team in hits.  Evan Sears (Liberty Prep) was 2nd in hitting at .459 and led the team with a .553 OBP and tied for the team lead in RBI with Johnson at 13.  Morris was 3rd in hitting and RBI’s while leading the team in walks.
            Defensively, the team was led by elite CF Connor Ramey (South Meck) and the infield play of Sears (MIF), Johnson (2B/3B) and Morris (3B/SS/1B).  Landers was strong in RF, while Shorts was the team’s top catcher while also playing well at the corners in the infield.

 

             Rejoining the Stampede after a fall away are three major contributors to an 18-10 season last summer. Football players Chase Biermann (Providence Day) and Max Puckett (Charlotte Christian), as well as athlete Khalil Boyd (Myers Park) rejoin the club to provide leadership and athleticism. 
              Puckett is an intense competitor whose speed and toughness elevate the Scout offensively, in the middle infield and on the mound as a top relief pitcher.  Biermann was the leader, a bulldog who took this team’s focus to a new level and who made a difference in some way every single game.  Boyd is the quiet assassin, a burner who not only wreaks havoc on the field offensively and defensively but who also is a prized arm on the mound.

 

              Several new faces are joining the Stampede this summer as well and their contributions will be essential to this team elevating to the status of one of the best in the Carolinas.  A trio of Charlotte Catholic players headline the group after a few seasons playing for a different local organization.  Farris Carinci (UTL/P) brings elite speed and athleticism that will allow him to be a top hitter, defender and pitcher.  Josh Stephens (P/1B/OF) is an ace on the bump and his LH bat will be a huge addition to a good lineup.  Henry Earl (P/3B/OF) possesses a big arm and big pop that will see him helping take the Scout to a new level in 2025.  Added to these three is Banks Stevenson (Charlotte Christian), a true utility player who switch-hits and will be a big asset behind the dish and at any position he is needed throughout the season.

 

                  Also added to the Stampede Scout this season is Assistant Coach Matt Vittorioso, the strength and conditioning coach for the Stampede organization.  Coach V is a personal trainer who will bring a wealth of experience on the diamond as well.  His commitment to excellence will be a major addition to this team.

 

                  Time for the Stampede Scout 15u to make some noise this summer.
